River Flood Deluges Bath Sections Saturday
Bath experiences a major Kennebec rise on Saturday with water submerging Commercial street and parts of Water street. The Bath Iron Works, Maine Central Railroad yard, and several shops faced flooding while boats retrieved stranded lumber and debris from the river. Man Rescued From Quagmire Near City Farm
Carlton W. Rideout found George W. Rogers 70, of Taunton, submerged in a mudhole on City Farm property near Oak Grove avenue. Police and volunteers used timber and boards to reach him. he was taken to Bath Memorial hospital in improved condition after 6 a.m. incident.
