About 125 guests attended a 3 to 5 p m tea in South Estabrook Hall at the University of Maine. The Women’s Student Government Association hosted the event honoring student nurses from Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. Freshman volunteers organized the affair to foster better acquaintance between nurses and University women.

State to Convert Andre House Into Women Dormitory in Bath
Arrangements near completion to repurpose the former Charles A. Andre house at 726 High Street for a women’s dormitory run by Mr and Mrs Horace Lewis. The U S O and Bath Lions Club aided the plan which provides 10 to 15 women rooms with downstairs occupancy by the Lewises and upper rooms for tenants. The State of Maine had purchased several houses for a Carlton bridge approach now postponed. the dormitory aims to address housing needs with rentals starting April 1.
