City youths sign up for NYA safety campaign work
Fourteen boys and girls gathered at City hall to join National Youth Administration jobs under PWA official Joseph Pennell. They will perform odd tasks and later assist traffic duty and accident record checks, earning 46 hours monthly at 17 dollars. Participants must be 16 to 25 and not attend school.

Plymouth Sedan Stolen From Church Parked Car Found Later
A Plymouth sedan registered 5915 was stolen Sunday morning from in front of St Marys church in Bath. Mrs. James B. Lemont left the car there after 7 30 church service and reported the loss when she returned about 6 20. City Marshal Whitney notified state police and Portland authorities located the sedan Tuesday morning.

Bath Iron Works Corp has been awarded the all steel ferry contract at 151 feet over all for $339,000. The vessel will serve the Newport naval base and torpedo station area, diesel electric propulsion, beam 53 feet. Construction to begin once contracts are signed, adding to four destroyers and three trawlers already in progress.
