Sagadahoc county Sunday school association executive board met at People's Church Vestry with L I Hooker presiding and Rev E H Brewster present. Mrs Irion M Dunlap resigned as secretary of the children's division. The vacancy will be filled by a committee. County convention moved from June to September. Youth division to use register and contest plan for adults. Workers conferences suggested for administration. Brewster reviewed reports and discussed strengthening weaker parts. He spoke on the North American Sunday School convention in Kansas City in June, Maine expected to send 54 delegates.
The Democratic State convention will be at Augusta City hall on April 7, with the fire at the hall deemed minor and not affecting the event. Cumberland County Democrat George M. Blake notes Portland Democrats can host without outside help, and expects a large Cumberland contingent at Augusta.
Fred Eames of Waldoboro, a veteran Maine copper worker, is visiting Bath and Woolwich with relatives. He is famed for a mechanical pair of dancing boys he invented, capable of steps challenging trained dancers. Cooper and Flo assist, crafting and testing the dolls, which are handmade in flashy costumes amid a slow cooperage season.
George F. Thompson bought from Kelley Spear Co. a government mess hall from the war era. The 105 foot long structure, once on Drummond street, was dismantled and moved to Thompson’s Hardings farm to be reassembled as a hennery, capable of housing a large flock.
Justice A M Spear presided at a reference hearing in the case of Thomas Bishop versus Fred P Ring at the courthouse. The dispute concerns a balance claimed for the erection of a building on the south side of York street with a sum of $451. A large property owner said he spent the winter on the roofs of nearly 50 buildings cleaning and repairing after snow storms. The repeated work reflects unusually costly conditions for local property owners this season.
Chester S. Kingsley, Health Officer, submits a yearly Bath sanitation report detailing bakery inspections, venereal disease treatment, Wassermann testing, milk and water quality checks, dental work in schools, and district nursing. He notes 1921 activities, Condensed statistics show 88 cafe inspections, 601 milk samples tested, 510 adults weighed at baby clinics, and overall expenditures under $1000.
Bath Maine February 24 1922 report to mayor and council on the municipal fiscal year ending January 31 1922. It lists appropriations and expenditures for street lighting and city building lighting with a small credit balance. It records street lights added in 1921 with locations and start dates and names city officials.
John H. Stacey of Phippsburg traveled from Bath to Portland and declared his plan to seek the Republican nomination for senator. He is the third candidate to enter the race, joining Dr. Langdon T. Snipe and Flow Carlton of Woolwich who had previously announced their interest.

Miss Mabel Manning gospel singer and evangelist has won hearts with spiritual songs and earnest prayers at the Nazarene church. She has toured the United States and England delivering inspiring music and sermons to large crowds, including 3000 women at a Billy Sunday meeting in the Strand Theatre Lynn Massachusetts.
A social night at the home of Mrs. Fannie J. Thurlow on 20 Highland street benefited the Odd Fellows Home fund. Guests included Mrs. Frank Farrin and Mrs. Ralph Mank. The event featured games, a mock wedding, candy table, cake bake by Mrs. William Congdon, a clothes-pin race won by W. W. Tedford, and a peanut hunt won by Shirley Mank. Local residents and many families attended, with songs, readings, and elaborate decorations in orange, yellow, and pink theme colors.
William J. Curran receives a letter from Bradford F E Dyer of Waterville Maine asking for the present address of Henry H. Dyer known as Harry or Captain. Dyer last heard from two Christmases ago in Springfield and possibly Connecticut. The letter requests help locating the brother of a Camp Rateon adjutant and notes the mother is 73 and worried.
Miss Lelia McPherson plans a Portland trip to see a relative during the auto show then to visit a cousin in Portsmouth with her brother Lawrence McPherson accompanying her. They will also travel to Salem before returning home.
Health Officer Chester Kingsley cites February nurse report showing a drop from 60 percent underweight in October 1921 to 8 percent underweight after February 1922. Milk in schools credited with helping children gain toward normal weight. other efforts include tooth brush drills and fresh air talks.
The Ruth E Merrill, built in 1904 and 8008 gross tons, is likely to bear Portland’s name on its stern again after sale by a Portland syndicate that owns several schooners. Capt A W Frost and Capt Percy L Farmer are tied to the Merrill’s future, with command expected in Norfolk. Also noted are the steel steamship Thomas P Beal sailing from Baltimore to New York, and the Jere G Shaw, burdened by about 25000 in debt after a Jacksonville leg and storm damage. Repairs proceed at Portland Sailmaking Co with sails destined for Jacksonville.
Chairman J Edward Drake of the Republican city committee announced March 15 as the caucus date to elect IS delegates and an equal number of alternates to the State convention in Bangor April 5 and the same for the second district convention in the same city on the same date. It is expected the caucus will include women in the delegation, matching national practice in many communities. Master John Warren Merrill celebrated his second birthday with a party at 18 Deering Street hosted by his parents Mr and Mrs Charles W Merrill.
Miss Tazel Robinson R N has returned from Gardiner after a ten day case. Miss Louise Robinson R N who was recently in Hingham Mass has gone to Kittery Point to visit Mr and Mrs William Shuttleworth formerly of this city. Both women are Brookyln city hospital graduates.
