George F Reed 69 died Wednesday morning from heart failure after weeks of illness and a severe cold. Born in Bath May 12 1849 he married Louise C Wyman in 1867 who died two months ago. He was a brick mason and built several Bath structures and worked at Hyde Windless Co and Bath iron works. Civil War service on Bat and Lady Sterling preceded presidencies Lincoln and Johnson. He held many fraternal and civic posts and leaves grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Colonial Club Elects Officers In Annual Meeting
A large attendance at the Colonial club annual meeting led to unanimous officer elections for the coming year. Elected were Andrew S Merrill president Edwin F Ramsey vice president Edward D True treasurer Fessenden X Chase clerk George B Moody director three years and William A Further finance committee two years. Charles Greenleaf Wall longtime Bath resident and former steamer clerk on the Star of the East died at his Hallowell home at 78.
