In Bath's municipal contest Republicans swept to power with Walter C. Rogers defeating Democrat Mayor Robert H. Haskell. Rogers won a strong plurality as Haskell carried only one ward by three votes. the aldermen and common council also leaned Republican.
Morse High of Bath entered as a dark horse in the Western Maine Basketball Tournament. They beat Portland High in the opener but lost in the semi finals to Edward Little of Auburn, ending their bid as Edward Little rolled to the final against Lewiston.
The United States anticipates a 430000 dollar allocation by Secretary Wickard to convert 3 million bushels of potatoes into starch benefiting Maine farmers. Aroostook County alone hosts 27 starch plants handling five to fifteen million bushels yearly. A Maine Central freight yard transformation shows regional progress from old dock to shipyard.

He was arraigned in Municipal Court before Judge Gardiner R Deering on a deputy sheriff complaint. Sutter allegedly threatened to shoot his wife with a Savage rifle Sunday night and pleaded not guilty with warrant reading waived.
Noyes Young held a Saturday night birthday party at his home at 11 Dummer Street. Guests included family and neighbors such as Mrs. and Mrs. Edward W. Sampson and several Young relatives. The table centerpiece featured three name labeled cakes with ice cream cake and cookies served.

Five candidates vied for selectmen with Earl McFee William G Berry and Charles Blake chosen. McFee and Blake won reelection while Harry Douglas and John Parker were unseated. Clyde Curtis defeated James in a contested race.
The ballot elected Howard Knight as tax collector defeating James Carr 318 to 258 and James Jones won the clerk post over Wallace Gardner 345 to 321. Officers include Moderator J W Randlette First selectman Earl McFee Second selectman William Berry Third selectman Charles Blake and Treasurer Knight. Rosanna G. Comeau 42 wife of Harry A. Comeau of 305 Center Street died Thursday morning at Memorial Hospital after a week there with a long illness. Born in Brunswick to Julius and Valentine Gagnon Normand she is survived by her husband her parents three brothers Ledger of Bridgeport Conn George and John D Normand of Brunswick four sisters Sister Mary of Our Savior of Chisholm Mrs Eugene Michaud of Lisbon Mrs Napoleon Bisson and Mrs Elzear Dashner of Brunswick. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of St. Marys. Mrs Robert L Brownell hosted her card club luncheon at 11 Cobb Road Thursday.
