Ruel W Powers of Woolwich age 50 keeper of the Perkins Island light on the Kennebec river died Friday evening at the Marine hospital in Portland after five weeks as a patient. He served 15 years in Coast Guard and the last five as keeper of Perkins Island light. Survived by wife Maude and two daughters Helen Davis Providence Rhode Island and Evelyn O'Brien Florida, two half brothers Frank Lunt Thomaston and Fred Hague Swan's Island, one sister Ella Hopkins Thomaston.
