Bowdoinham Case Seen as Mob vs Dr Grant in 1915
In Bowdoinham Municipal Court Judge Keegan heard State vs Frank Brown after about 20 masked townspeople gathered at Dr and Mrs Grant home on Washington's Birthday. A scuffle followed with Brown and Dr Grant. Mrs Grant aided by the mob fired a warning shot. Grants sue for 2000 in slander. Brown held for S J Court with 500 bail. town divided over Grange expulsion and clashes. The crowded scene ended with residents dispersing after the shot.
