Carrier Pigeon Found Far From Buffalo in Race
A carrier pigeon with aluminum leg band A J 30 Buffalo 279 was found on Cummings Feldspar Co. property by Stanley and Benjamin Cressey, sons of Mr and Mrs Benjamin L Cressey. The bird, one of about 600 released west of Buffalo, was believed blown off course by a storm and injured on the breast. It is tame and resting, with plans to release it when strong enough to resume its journey home to Buffalo.

An evening accident near Dunton's Corner damaged a telegraph pole and the car windshield. Percy Bowles faces Bath Municipal Court Thursday at 2:00 PM for leaving the scene. Bowles' woman passenger received cuts. the pole belonged to the Postal Telegraph Co.

Bath Youth Builds Napoleonic Coach Model in Guild Display
A 19 year old Austin Morse of Whiskay Road completed a detailed Napoleonic coach model for the Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild. The two and a half foot long piece features a robin egg blue lower body, black top, gaudy red running gear, brass hub caps, and ornate upholstery. Morse spent about 2000 hours over 21 months, using Fisher plans and rare materials sourced through theaters, with a shipping cradle and padding for protection.

County Attorney Ralph O. Dale comments after reviewing Ward 1 ballots from the June Primary. Official tabulation shows Dale 150, Aldrich 142, Aldred 37 with Dale losing seven votes in both Dale and Aldrich’s counts. Aldrich leads in assignments with minor discrepancies. Ward 1 voters marked ballots with notable neatness. Democratic ballots totaled 46 with Carey 28, Dale 15, Aldrich 3.

Kimball Mansion Being Torn Down in Bath
The Kimball homestead at 1011 High street Bath is being razed by contractor Roscoe G Bailey. Once one of Bath's finest dwellings built by Crosby Sewall about 80 years ago it featured 2 12 story main sections and 14 rooms with a rear ell. John Hazen Kimball, born 1823 in Concord New Hampshire, was its first occupant and a Bath historical figure.

Two Historic Mansions Open to Public for Week
South Berwick Maine and Salmon Falls New Hampshire hosts will open two 19th century mansions to the public for a week from July 14 to July 21. Sarah Orne Jewett’s mansion in South Berwick and Eastman House, both owned by the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, offer furnished interiors and grounds with admissions proceeds aiding restoration. A trustee also offers Paul Wentworth’s nationally known home during the same period to support the preservation cause.
