Morse High School Grants Largest Class Since 1926

Seventy five Morse high school graduates received pocket size diplomas in Morse auditorium. The class included 41 women and 34 men, with Miss Carol Elizabeth Stevens salutatorian and Newell J. Wilson class president delivering the oration. The ceremony honored Edison Goethals and Lincoln as examples of labor conquering all, ending with a benediction of perseverance and a student performance of Swinging Along.

Morse High Alumni Banquet Brings 300 Together

More than 300 Morse high alumni and guests gathered for the 41st annual alumni banquet in the Morse building. Graduates from 1863 to 1932 shared greetings as Rev. Edwin D. Hardin gave grace and Newell J. Wilson welcomed all, with honored guests from the class of 1863 and 1907.

Bath autoist battles bee and wrecks Ford

Henry P. of 12 West Street escaped injury when a bee attack caused his Ford sedan to veer on East Avenue. He struck a small gap and dropped a brook before captonwell and Officer Hood arrived. Healey’s car is in the garage awaiting repairs with delivery hoped by Saturday. He remained unshaken and joked about the bee sting.

Morse High Class of 1932 Holds Senior Reception

In Morse high school gym decorated by juniors, about 300 guests attended the senior reception for the class of 1932. Faculty, officials, and loved ones greeted graduates in a line, with evening gowns and coordinated attire among attendees, while John Grindell’s eight piece orchestra provided music.

Davenport Trustees Offer Assistance for YMCA Camp

The Davenport trustees provide financial aid to the YMCA to support its Summer Camp Work. Boys unable to pay may apply at the YMCA on Thursday mornings at 10 for selection for the following Saturday. Preference goes to the most worthy and boys about twelve years or older. apply early as many request aid later in the season.

The class of 1907 held its 25th anniversary at Bath high school alumni banquet. 48 graduates, 36 diplomas, 9 commercial, 3 special certificates. Valedictorian Ruth Thompson 97, Salutatorian Stanley Pierce 98. Repertoire included essays, orations, declamations, and a Paul Revere statue gift to Morse.

Sagadahoc Republicans back Carlton and Reedy in Monday primary

Sagadahoc County Republicans showed strong support for Hon. Frank W. Carlton of Woolwich in the gubernatorial race, carrying Bath and every town in the county with over 2,300 votes countywide. Beedy led the county in the congressional contest, while N Gratz Jackson won the state senate nomination and Henderson was renominated as sheriff.
