Floating stage project set for Bath municipal dock
A contract for a new floating stage at the Bath municipal dock has been awarded to Harry M. Powers. The 40 by 12 by three foot stage will be built in Richmond of hard pine and will be positioned near the former State ferry site. The Hockomock ferry will dock at the Woolwich berth and a 30 foot runway will link the apron to the stage. Completion is expected by mid to late July with Aldermen Maxwell Powers and E Mason Wright overseeing the project.

Charles O Berry 82 a retired Maine railroad conductor and Portland Bath line veteran died Sunday at his home 35 Jefferson Street South Portland after a long career. He served 32 years on Maine Central including 32 years as a Portland Bath train conductor and later 14 years with Union Safe Deposit and Trust Co. He was a past master of Portland lodge of Masons a member of Greenleaf chapter St Albans Commandery and the Order of Railroad Conductors. His daughter Edith Brett the sole near surviving relative lived with him.

Funeral Services for Philip R Hathorne
The funeral for Philip R. Hathorne 31 was held at his parents home in Woolwich Center. Dr. C. E. Bousfield officiated. Hathorne, a Morse High School 1918 and Maine Agricultural College 1923 graduate, worked for three years with the United States Geodetic Post Survey in Alaska as a junior lieutenant. He later joined International Paper Co and was employed at Fort Kent where three dams were under construction. He drowned at Fish River Falls June 4 while in charge of a survey crew. body recovered June 16. He belonged to Polar Star lodge Masons and was highly regarded by his family and community. He is survived by his parents three uncles and three aunts.
