The Dromore Farm Bureau met at Dromore Grange hall to discuss homemade grooming aids. Mrs Eva Rogers led with a paper on grooming as 17 members attended and samples were made by a cream committee including Mrs Evelyn Beals and Mrs Esther McCourt. A covered dish dinner followed with a 25 cent charge. visits from several members and guests were noted and plans made for picnics and fundraisers including a quilt project and a penny sale.

Seven Year Old Girl Hit By Car In Washington Street Incident
Bally Wilson seven year old daughter of Mr and Mrs John H Wilson of 623 Washington street was struck by a car driven by Mrs William S Blair at Washington street. She was taken to Memorial hospital for surgery on a deep cut to the right thigh and a throat abrasion. Police found no charges after noting the child darted in front of the auto.
Red Cross War Relief Quota Sent For Shipment
June 15 quota for war relief dispatched Thursday to New York for shipment. Garments packed at Grace church parish house under Junior Hospital League leadership with Mrs E M Fuller Jr as chairman. Included were 70 sweaters 20 men 10 women 40 children 40 men convalescent robes dresses size 14 14 women size 40 and ten layettes. Grace Cotton visiting Bath and Nobbieboro attended Revere High School graduation Thursday.

Destroyer Gleaves Delivered and Departed for Boston Run
The destroyer Gleaves, 1630 tons, was delivered by Bath Iron Works to the Navy at Boston Navy Yard at 2 pm Friday. It left the dock at 6 am and passed Coast Guard Station Popham at 6 45. The sea was calm with northwest wind about 13 mph and 13 miles visibility. Gleaves is the ninth destroyer from Bath Iron Works with Dewey commissioned Oct 3, 1934. Niblack remains at the dock.
