Westport Flag Raising Brings Town Together in Rain
About forty residents gathered at the town hall for a long awaited flag-raising event despite bad weather. Cereas Knight and Mrs Albertine Knight prepared a generous supper while Brother James Knight erected the pole. The Grange funded the flag and its pole, with donations and attendance noted. The afternoon honored children with performances, and a later meeting featured State Lecturer Purrington on flowers. Mrs Kate Foster and Dr Benjamin Foster arrived to prepare their summer home, while William Scott updated his house.
