Power Outage Affects Eastern River Lumber Trade

Industrial plants and power users faced brief outages Wednesday morning as a lumber schooner was towed from the Eastern river area. Wires were removed at several tall mast stations to prevent clashes with the ship and a temporary load was tested at Lewiston. Power was restored after hours, but continued concerns suggest possible further tower extensions to support high tension lines along the river if lumber movements persist.
