Concealed Weapon Charge Dismissed in Bath Court
Gordon R. Smart and Paul Saucier both 19 from Eagle Lake were arraigned in municipal court at 2 p.m. Friday with Smart charged for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and Saucier for vagrancy. Judge Arthur J. Dunton discharged them after their accounts. Police found Smart with a loaded .38 revolver at the time of a night lodging search at the police headquarters. He said he traded a jacket and axe in Ashland to obtain the weapon for protection while hitchhiking from Northern Maine toward Newburyport to visit relatives. They were returning home and stopped in Bath last night.
