Dr John Howard Payne a prominent Boston eye specialist and head of the eye department at the Homeopathic Hospital died at his Commonwealth Avenue residence after a short illness. He leaves a wife Ernestine Thoughton, two sisters, and a brother Dr Pred Payne who also led the eye department at the Homeopathic Hospital.
