Sloop Capsizes In River Near Woolwich Shore
A rigged skiff capsized just north of the Carlton Bridge near Woolwich. Kingsbury and Fulton, both good swimmers, righted the craft and were towed to Blaisdell's shop by Clarence White. Sedan Plunges Off Southport Bridge
An Oldsmobile sedan owned by Dr. W. Harrington and driven by his chauffeur plunged through the south railing of the Southport bridge around midnight Saturday and sank in 30 feet of water. The chauffeur escaped the sinking car but could not swim and clung to a bridge piling until rescue by Leslie Swett, the Southport alley clerk.

Two Hours Swim After Skiff Sinks On Kennebec
Ray Watts of Bath lived a perilous drift when his 15 foot skiff overturned on the Kennebec opposite Bishop's dock. He swam about two hours despite heavy cargo and darkness, reaching Hospital Point buoy and finally shore at Winneganee after discarding his clothing. Watts credited rescue by Errol Blaisdell of Phippsburg and was brought home to Bath to calm his wife. The wrecked skiff was not found.

Youngster Pennell Saves Lad From Drowning At Winnegance Lake
Leon Pennell Jr. of 14 High Street rescued Ralph Merry Jr. of Saugus Mass. from drowning at Winnegance Lake after the boy fell from a raft. He located the child by a white ball, released him from eel grass grip, and provided first aid. Master Pennell had recently earned a swimming-lesson badge for passing all tests.
