Reckless Driving Case Before Bath Court
Harry W. Halterman Jr of Bath pleaded guilty to reckless driving in Bath municipal court after an early Tuesday crash on North street. He paid a $25 fine and $4.70 costs following police estimates of $300 vehicle damage and $350 porch damage at 10 North street owned by Samuel Levin. Rodney E. Bath was fined $5 plus $4.70 costs for failing to stop at a stop sign at Winter and Middle streets.

Eight Traffic Deaths in June on Maine Roads
Maine records eight traffic fatalities in June, two fewer than last year, totaling 61 highway deaths for the first half of the year, with six urban and rural crashes. Pedestrian victims include three under six in cities and two elderly or young pedestrians in rural areas. Androscoggin, Oxford, and other counties show rising fatalities, while Franklin reports no accidents.

Grading Underway on Kelley Field Gridiron Project

Woman's body found floating in Kennebec River

Three Alberts In Route 1 Crash Near Witch Spring
A noon collision west of Witch Spring hill on Route 1 in West Bath involved three drivers all named Albert. Albert R. Bland, 59, of South Bronx, was hospitalized with injuries from his 1951 Buick after being hit by Albert R. Beckhert, 72, of Swampscott, Massachusetts, in a 1950 Buick. Beckhert’s car struck Albert J. Heller, 49, of Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey, in a 1950 Nash, sending Beckhert’s vehicle into the woods. Police said another car avoided collision by leaving the roadway. The extent of Bland’s injuries was unknown at press time.
