Noa Destroyer to be Launched at Bath Monday
The USS Noa, a 2200 ton destroyer named for lost midshipman Loveman Noa, will be launched at Bath Iron Works Monday at 6 p.m. Mrs James Cary Jones Jr will christen the vessel. Noa, born in Chattanooga, was killed at Samar on October 26 1901 while observing smugglers. The first USS Noa sank after a 1919 launch.
