George Fields 71 of Bath pleaded guilty to assault charges in municipal court before Judge Gardiner R. Deering. He was arrested by Patrolman Robert Wagner Jr at Kimball field for mistreating three Bath girls aged nine eight and five. He admitted no motive and noted prior prison time in Thomaston. Found guilty, he must serve six months in Augusta jail on each of three counts consecutively.

In Vancouver a dog found a large envelope and chewed it open scattering 180 dollars. Police were called and money was recovered by L. Edgar, who had lost the envelope days earlier.
