The Bath Savings Institution held its 98th annual meeting in Sedgwick. President William A. Furber reported deposits up over 145000 and School Savings up 6000, total resources near 9.9 million. Dividends paid total about 186000 with over 40000 added to surplus. reserve and undivided profits reach 1.152 million. Buck Wins Maine Amateur Championship in Dramatic Comeback
Dr. Leon E. Buck of Bath staged a furious comeback to defeat Joe Williamson of Augusta Country Club 3 and 2 in the 36 hole Maine Amateur final. Buck trailed by eight holes after 11 but won the match on the 16th hole and became the first Bathman to hold the title since 1918. He reached the final by beating Roy Moore Waterville Howard Mayo Bath Adrian Knight Fort Fairfield and Bill Lever Martindale.

The Public Health Nursing Association reports May and June activities led by Ruth Henry. Nurses conducted 202 home visits for tubercular cardiac pre natal post natal and general morbidity care and for infants preschool and crippled children. Eight infant and pre school health conferences drew 77 attendees. Immunization clinics in June saw 129 children and 77 completed immunizations. The Chest X ray Survey totaled 3292 adults X rayed with community cooperation.
