Taxes and benefits a topic for study
The U.S. Department of Agriculture finds local taxes burden farmers, as school and road funding shift to local levies. Rural areas face higher per pupil costs and weaker facilities, while population shifts to cities worsen fairness. State-wide needs argue for broader funding reform.
Taxing units examined as parts of larger communities
The department argues that taxing units are not separate districts but components of towns and cities. It notes interdependence in economic and social issues, warns that separate local taxation lets wealth escape taxation, and says state authorities are better positioned to ensure fairness.

Farming on a Business Basis

Electricity from reliable power plants becomes a household servant, enabling the farmer, wife, and family to enjoy leisure earned by hard work.
