Private funeral services for Mrs. Margaret G Ansert wife of Arthur Ansert were conducted Thursday morning by Rev Joseph Devaney of St Marys near her home 58 Chestnut Street. Bearers from the Batherie of Eagles were Amos Perry George Reynolds Loring Roberts and Ernest Huse. Burial was in Oak Grove.

Patrons at the Colonial cafe witnessed a blazing kettle of fat in the kitchen during supper hour. A fire department chemical wagon arrived quickly and extinguished the flames with chemicals. Damage was negligible and waitresses remained unaware of the scene.
At a Wesley M. E. church meeting the Sunday School Board invited the county Sunday school convention to meet in annual session on September 22.
