Young Bath Man Killed in Brunswick Road Crash
William Adams a 16 year old Bath resident and son of Mr and Mrs William M Adams died after a car wreck near Tukeys Bridge Brunswick. He was driving a roadster that went through the railing into a creek and suffered internal injuries. Two companions Leslie Larrabee and Stanley Curtis escaped unharmed. Adams worked at Bath Iron Works and had just picked up his friends after taking a date home following a dance. The vehicle passed another car with William Litchfield and Donald Dennison of Brunswick shortly before the collision.

Coast Guardsmen search the surf and shoreline for Thomas Duncan a 21 year old Lewiston man who drowned Sunday afternoon off Popham Beach while swimming with Cyrille LaBranche. Duncan born in Berlin NH moved to Lewiston 14 years ago and recently worked in Baltimore.

The Wyman Dam on the Kennebec River has created a placid lake nearly three quarters of a mile wide and 12 miles long, reshaping Somerset county scenery with new roads and vistas. Two generators, each 34 000 horsepower, are in use as crews finish a concrete parapet, intake tower, and landscaping. The project, largely Maine-made with native labor, aims to boost power and preserve river flow while opening the area to scenic views and tourism.

Old Ironsides Parade Set For Bath 150th Celebration
Bath marks its 150th anniversary with a Monday arrival of Old Ironsides and a week of events from a union service to a grand parade. The program includes historical sketches, radio broadcast, river recall, boat races, a banquet for Lieut. John A. Lard, and a three night American Legion lawn party at the city park. Governor Gardner may enter a speed boat. the big parade is led by Eugene M. Desmond with extensive floats and displays.
