Rotary president urges firmer action over national emergency

Rotary visitors seek Kennebec Kennel Club trophy

Body of Richard Dall Recovered From Kennebec River
The body of 20 year old Richard Dall of Brunswick, a Bath Iron Works riveter, was found in the Kennebec River Monday afternoon. Medical Examiner Ardenne A. Stott ruled accidental drowning. The discovery followed a fishing party near the Texas yard where a boat spotted the body and towed it to City Landing. The death occurred June 15, two weeks earlier, after a prior unsuccessful search.

Building permit granted for new Bath business block
The Bath city council directed building inspector Richard Frates to issue a permit to Arthur Shachman owner of the Music Hall block site at Washington and Center streets. Shachman agreed to set the building back five feet on both streets to widen the corners for traffic safety. He plans a diagonal corner and a 151 by 92 foot structure with a tar and gravel roof and a two car garage.
