Seventieth Wedding Anniversary of Read Nichols and Wife
Mr and Mrs Read Nichols celebrate seventy years of marriage after tying the knot January 26, 1846, at the Methodist Church. The couple, age 94 and 76, hosted and received telegrams and floral tributes while their family held a dinner at their Washington Street home. They have one son Charles L Nichols and one daughter Emma Pierce, plus nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Nichols is the citys oldest active businessman and former fire chief.
