Bath Board backs lower eligibility for school aid bill

The Bath Board of Education endorses changing the Sinclair education bill to allow more towns and cities, including Bath, to qualify for school construction aid. Current law sets a 700 pupil threshold. Bath has about 570 in grades 9–12. The board asks for a 300 threshold, arguing it would add 18–24 communities and that the budget can support the change. It plans to urge state lawmakers to act at the upcoming special session.
