Attorney Carey Denies Toll Opinion On Bath Bridge
Attorney John P. Carey states he did not give a dock opinion on whether Bath should abandon tolls for the Carlton bridge. He says he advised delaying the $9,000 payment until the matter is settled and is preparing facts for the Governor and Council and possibly the Maine Supreme Court. The case centers on tolls, bond funds, and whether enough money exists to cover railroad bonds and retirement interest. Gardiner D. Rogers installed as commandant of the Admiral Charles F. Hughes Ship No. 29 Navy Club in Bath with national and local officials speaking.
