Phippsburg Beach Seawall Vanished By High Tides
Summer visitors find major changes at Popham Beach as the century old sea wall west of Fox Island disappeared after recent high tides. The cranberry beds and marsh have been flooded, the coast guard hut washed away, and Morse's river shifted its bed. Local officials report military moves and note residents’ mixed feelings over the sea wall loss.
