Tickets for the sacred concert by the University of Maine Glee Club on January 12 at 7 30 p.m. in Winter Street Church are available from Mrs. John H. Sylvester and Miss Lucy G. Rogers. The Winter Street Ladies' Aid hosted a luncheon for 61 members and discussed Red Cross plans and carpet fund efforts. Reverend Joseph O. Purdue spoke on explorers of America and the West, ending with God Bless America.

Miss Mary Ellen Goodwin 22 of Bath has earned a private pilot license from the Department of Commerce after completing ground and flight courses in Augusta. She logged 19 hours dual and 19 hours 30 minutes solo, with a cross country flight from Augusta to Portland and Lewiston, returning to Augusta. The Bath native, Morse high graduate, now works in Augusta, and a second Bath woman, Miss Marjorie Farber, has enrolled for a similar course.
