Genesta Chapter Elects Officers at Annual Meeting
Genesta chapter No. 73 O E S held its annual meeting in the Masonic temple on Friday evening. Officers elected include Mrs. Philip A. Roberts as worthy matron and Philip A. Roberts as worthy patron, with Mrs. Justus H. Miller as associate matron and Justus H. Miller as associate patron. Secretary Mrs. Luther S. Thompson and treasurer Mrs. Charles F. Nelson reported a busy year. a memorial service was held for Mrs. George A. Cahill. The installation is set for Jan 16, with a rehearsal planned for next Friday at 7 30. Catherine E. Leonard was chosen to the finance committee.

Mr and Mrs Fred D Hill receive New Year news that their daughter Mrs William R Freeman and her husband Capt Freeman have arrived safely in San Francisco after departing Honolulu. Freeman met Bath locals there and offered to bring Lydia Baxter Gillette and her two children to the West Coast, while Mrs Gillette and the children were later reported safely in San Francisco from Pearl Harbor. Capt Gillette, head of Pearl Harbor industrials, expects shore duty on the mainland early spring. Gillette and family endured the Pearl Harbor blitz.

New Year Dance by Junior League a Grand Night

Wiscasset Plant Opens New Year With Steam Power
Central Maine Power Co. began drawing power from the first of two 27,000 horsepower turbines at the Mason plant in Wiscasset on January 1. President Walter S. Wyman said delivery of the second unit would be delayed until 1943 at the earliest, but the utility remains confident in handling expected loads including defense demand. Wyman noted the plant honors Frank H. Mason and reported 1941 net income of 2,059,575.08 after debt service. preferred dividends total 1,347,182.03 leaving 712,393.05.
