Bath welcomes 1926 with a grand New Year ball at the Y M C A gymnasium hosted by the Junior Hospital League. Over 300 dancers in gowns and tuxedos mingle through evergreen decor and magic displays while Grindell's orchestra supplies dance music into the early hours.

Admiral Edwin Putnam of Bath Dies at 85
Rear Admiral Edwin Putnam, 85, U S Navy, longtime Bath native, died in Portsmouth New Hampshire. He served 40 years in the pay corps retiring as rear admiral in 1902 after Civil War service on the monitor Nantucket and the ironclad Atlanta and later posts including the Charlestown navy yard and Portsmouth yard. He leaves a wife Annie M Salter and was brother of the late William L Putnam. He was born at 804 Washington street.

Post Graduates Stage Comedy at Morse High
Post graduates presented the comedy It Happened in June at Morse High School in the assembly hall for Morse Mentor and the school paper. A large audience enjoyed a holiday evening with dancing afterward as Crockett's Orchestra played. The cast included Philip Stackpole as Jim Pritchett and Harry Vinson as the city man in a country town, with Edwin Spaulding, Helen Harvie, Annie Chandler, Pauline MacDonald, Lillian Jeddry, Wendall Williams, and club members delivering strong performances under coach Adelaide Boynton.

Grace Church Holds Annual Parish House Meeting
Grace Church held its annual meeting Monday night at the parish house with over a hundred attendees participating in the transactions. The layout changed from stall tables to center hall seating and decorations including candlelabra and flowers. Supper of chicken salad hot rolls coffee and Washington pie was served by church women and guild members with help from the Girls' Friendly Society.
