Waterville Man Alfred J Pooler Identified in Bath Case
Positive ID of the man found frozen in Topsham woods last Sunday December 23 as Alfred J Pooler 67 of Waterville came after hours of inquiry by County Attorney John P Carey Jr Inspector Frank Cooper and Waterville Police Officer George Maheu with state detective help. The brother Edward Pooler confirmed the identification after seeing a photograph and a clothing tag bearing the initials A J P. Officials noted the case involved lead trails from Waterville gate tenders and a December 5 departure from Elden Inn.

Junior League Ball a Brilliant Bath Social Event
The Junior Hospital League held its annual ball at the Arcade ballroom for Bath Memorial hospital raising about 200 dollars from an attendance of roughly 150 couples. Lloyd Rafnell and his Georgians played from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. with Miss Jane Rafnell singing, and decorations by Miss Mary Newell highlighted an evening of social high society including attendees from Brunswick, Portland, and Augusta.
