Christmas at the State Military and Naval Children's Home brought joy to 39 boys and girls who received gifts from staff, ex governors, and friends. Major William R. Kimball joined for breakfast and explained gifts from trust funds as the home displayed a manger, three Christmas trees, a turkey dinner, and a Matinee with Marx Brothers Go West at the Opera House.

The Memorial hospital held a Christmas mood with Miss Downing overseeing a tree in the wards, ornamentals at the entrances, and wreaths at the front and Nurses' Home. St Barnabas Guild for Nurses remembered all 34 patients with gifts of handkerchiefs and toilet articles. A full turkey dinner was served to all.
