District delegates meet for Pension Fund drive in Wiscasset

A Feb 17 meeting in the vestry gathered 30 ministers and delegates from Boothbay Harbor Edgecomb Newcastle Sheepscot Woolwich and Wiscasset. Rev. Roderick A. McDonald outlined annuity fund needs while local leaders planned fundraising for the First Congregational church.

Coombs and City Must File Bonds Over Removal Dispute

The Overseers of the Poor press to remove Ferdinand W. Coombs from City Home manager. Judge Deering rules Coombs legally voted out. Coombs plans appeal to Sagadahoc Superior Court. Both parties ordered to post bonds of 8190. city may seek eviction if bonds are not posted. Coombs told to suspend duties and vacate Feb 1, with appeal pending at June term.

Woolwich Meeting Change for Montsweux Hall Hostesses

On Wednesday March 2 an all day meeting will be held at Montsweux wramge hall in Woolwich. Members are asked to note the change in meeting place with Mrs Levereth C Welch as hostess assisted by Mrs Henry T Ditbar and Mrs John C Gilmore. The program titled Pressing and Folding Without Wrinkles will be led by Mrs Maurice T Hathorne, clothing project tender.

West Bath Grange to Hold School of Instruction

West Bath grange will host a School of Instruction in its hall on Thursday at eight. Approximately 60 members attended the Monday meeting. State master F A Richardson and state lecturer Hartley Stewart will be present along with state secretary Nellie B Hascall and the home and welfare committee. Sagadahoc Pomona will meet Dirigo grange of Brunswick Wednesday. A Friday dance on March 4 with committee led by Arthur C Lemont was announced. The Washington Lincoln observance featured a tableau and readings and music by Grange members. Washington pie and coffee followed the program.
