Major Kimball Honored in New England Seeds Catalogue
Major William R. Kimball of Bath known as the dean of New England seeds appears on the cover of the Pine Tree State Seed Co. 24 page catalogue. A Spanish War veteran, he started seed work in 1894 then expanded after 1898. He retired in 1934 selling to Portland firms but continues to garden and raise ornamental gourds at home. Officers of the Maine Progressive Union of clubs were elected at the Cosmopolitan club meeting with plans for an educational loan fund named Randilla Willard fund and added to the Maine Federation of Women's clubs education loan fund.

She started in the night school advising and teaching typewriting and shorthand before moving to daytime instruction in the freshman class with 15 advanced and 10 beginner pupils. Queen Esther Rebekah lodge No. 20 held Past Noble Grands Night with the annual roll call. Seventy-seven members participated in readings and jokes, 18 past noble grands attended including one visiting officer from Ocean Bound lodge No. 67. A program featured readings, a vocal solo, a skit Four Seasons of the Year and a decorated supper. The 57th anniversary is set for March 29.
