Silas W. Owen 69 longtime baggage master on the Boston Kennebec line died in Auburn after an 18 month illness. Born Bath Sept 9 1857 he sailed the Atlantic and Pacific and circled the globe before joining the Kennebec Steamboat Co in 1899. He is survived by daughters Mrs Graydon Burrus and Mrs Clarence Whitney and son Charles D Owen.
