Morse High to Forfeit Nine Wins After Eligibility Error

Morse High School will forfeit nine of its eleven basketball victories after it was revealed substitute guard Francis L. Sullivan played while over age. Principal Horace P. Herrick said the mistake stemmed from a misdated birth record, dating Sullivan’s birth to March 9, 1920, instead of 1939, and noted municipal records corrected the date. The decision follows an age check by Morse coach John E. Madden and echoes a historic similar incident from 1930.
