Hyde Windlass Guard Rescues Boy From Kennebec River
Fred Crafts, a Hyde Windlass Co. guard and Saga dahoc deputy, saved 5-year-old Daniel Hart from icy Kennebec River near the Central Maine Power substation. He crawled over the ice with a long pole, then ladder crewmen lifted the boy onto the ice. Danny was taken to Bath Memorial Hospital for observation and ion treatment.
