Lobster size bill debated in Augusta
Representative Goldthwait of Biddeford pushes a double gauge lobster measure to set a 4% to 6 inch range from nose bone to body shell center. He argues the 4% inch minimum aligns with New England standards and avoids hardship from double nozzle rules. He notes enforcement challenges and contrasts with Senator Gordon and Massachusetts NH laws, stressing uniformity and protection for large egg producers.
