Bath Fire Department critique urges preserving crew size
Vaughan argues Bath should not reduce fire department call men despite cost concerns. He cites 57 active firefighters in four engine and one ladder company with pay totaling 5,445 in 1949 and warns reductions risk delayed responses and unsafe firefighting. He favors keeping two assistant chiefs and questions consolidation ideas while noting station roles and centralization history.
