Dominic Tardif former Bath mayor and former state legislator has won top honors for the fifth straight month in Lewiston selling insurance. Morse High School currently enrolls about 700 students with 113 in the senior class. City council studies a new municipal employee salary schedule while officers expect an increase of no more than 3 per week. Grover married to Pauline Clifton of Bath and served in Germany earning Army of Occupation Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
Cpl Ardenne Haines and Sgt Royden Haines, sons of Mr and Mrs Royden G Haines of 481 Middle Street, are hospitalized. Ardenne, with the 95th CML S A Co in Korea, has returned to the front after treatment in a Seoul Swedish hospital. Royden is in a Camp Stewart Georgia hospital with Bath's Battery B 703rd AAA Gun Battalion.
Pfc. Lawerace L. Joy of Morse High School is serving in Germany. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Erving L. Joy of Tops.

Edgar D. Leavitt of 86 Academy Street campaigns for Ward 3 in the February 12 Bath municipal election. The World War I veteran has two prior terms on the old Common Council under Mayor Donald N. Small and one term under Mayor Walter C. Rogers. He is married with four children, employed in Bath Iron Works maintenance, active in the American Legion Lions Club West Bath Grange and Boy Scout Council, and has lived in Bath 18 years focusing on civic affairs.
February Boy Scout Week highlights the 41st anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Since 1910 over 17.75 million youths have been influenced by the Scout Oath and Law. Today more than 2.75 million in 75,000 units participate as leaders, donors, and volunteers across communities.
Troop 11 met in Grace church parish house with leaders Mrs Ralph Card and Mrs Thomas Aikenhead. Dues were collected by Susan Connard and Janice Card. They worked on coin purses, planned a Valentine box and exchange, and listed next week’s name drawing.

St Mary's Cub Pack 53 held a January meeting at Lambert Park Recreational Hall with fifty Cubs and families. Cubmaster Simard and leaders arranged exhibits featuring Bath's Kennebec River landmarks and Bath Iron Works. Artifacts and crafts will be shown in the W. T. Grant window for Boy Scout Week February 6 to 12. Cubs paraded to There Are Rivers to Cross.
The Maine Publicity Bureau releases "Fishing In Maine" a basic information booklet on inland and saltwater fishing including Atlantic salmon. It promotes Maine sporting camps and lodges and features the One That Didn’t Get Away club, with humorous notes on piscatoris dementis as spring nears.
The Sagadahoc Fi Mothers' club met Thursday at Mrs. Betty Brown's home. Attendees noted low turnout due to the storm. After a short business session, 52 auction was played and homemade ice cream and cake were served by the hostess with help from Mrs. Maude Orr and Mrs. Ruth Orr. The next meeting is scheduled Feb 15 at Sagadahoe Ferry schoolhouse for a Valentine canasta party. members should bring a guest.
The Lions minstrel show features 40 voice chorus in red white and blue costumes. It includes Loving Sam by Jimmy Callan and showcases dance numbers from Charlotte E Cahill School of the Dance. Cecil Fullerton designed scenery and lighting. Lillian Allen arranged music and Kit Totman’s orchestra provided background music.

Tbra K. Lawrence, Arrowsic tax collector, pleaded guilty to speeding on Washington Street in Bath Municipal Court. He paid a $10 fine and $4.70 in costs. A Bath man charged with intoxication was sent to Kennebec County Jail for 15 days.
