Mrs Edna J And of Rochester New Hampshire learns her son Donald has been awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in actual combat on April 18 1945 in Nuernberg Germany while serving with the 15th Infantry of the Seventh Army. He entered service in April 1943 and has been overseas 16 months seeing action in England France Germany and Austria. He wears multiple decorations including the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster Combat Infantry Badge Good Conduct Medal Croix de Guerre with French Cord ETO Ribbon with Four Stars Presidential Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze Star and Silver Star. Before service he worked in the outfitting department at Bath Iron Works Corp.
Mr and Mrs Stewart Mc Pherson of 397 Washington street report a telegram from their son Corporal Stewart McPerson Jr stating he has arrived in the United States after three years in the army and nearly two years overseas He is now at a separation center and expected home soon.
Myron M. Craige MM3c U S N R husband of Mrs Annie Craige of 16 Corliss St is among 1059 Navy veterans returning to the United States for discharge aboard the U S S Hornet carrier. He left Guam on January 15 and is expected in San Francisco around January 2. The Hornet served in Pacific Fleet operations against Palau Truk Bonins Guam Luzon Manila Bay Okinawa Iwo Jima and other targets contributing to Japan's surrender.
The veteran, formerly with the Construction Battalion, toured Revit Casablanca Cairo and Africa with his family. He earned three campaign ribbons and five battle stars after returning from Okinawa in June and now plans to attend the Boston School of Mechanical Dentistry when a new class starts.

Lieut. Clyde B. Holmes Jr. on terminal leave and Mrs. Holmes, formerly of South Street, visit relatives in Belfast. Holmes has been in the Pacific and after returning to this county went to Florida to meet Mrs. Imes. Mrs. Holmes has spent the winter in Florida.
