The New Meadows River gatta Association hosted a Christmas dance at the South End P T A hall with Laforest Coombs Orchestra providing music. Orchids were gifts from Harold P Small as attendees enjoyed pies and coffee and entertainment led by Mrs Kenneth Francisco featuring comic costumes and performances by local residents.
George Pickard a 62 year old Bath resident is held for observation at Memorial hospital after being struck by an automobile on Vine street early Saturday evening. He suffered contusions over the left eye possible rib fractures and a broken shoulder and shock but is not seriously hurt. X rays to be taken. The driver Robert Marshall 18 of Bath was driving slowly and no charges were filed.
