Hose Co. 1 marked its 19th anniversary at the Marshall street house with a lobster supper and oratory. All 15 members attended junto with former members and guests including Chief Engineer Parks and Alderman John N. Taylor. Foreman Vernal Chase led the toast as John Tyler recalled Boston fire days and the new auto truck was shown as a key upgrade.

Lieut Chase Returns Home From Overseas Trip

Bath Man Caught With Goods In Liquor Toll

Ten Rockland stevedores brought to empty the Lehigh Valley barge 783 quit the job citing lodging, meals, and gear issues at the Bath plant. Mulligan Co. stevedores took over unloading the Gibbons barge and will resume work on the Sewall barge the next day to minimize demurrage costs.
