Vending Machine Stolen in Brazen Diner Heist
Three Bath men named in a Monday warrant after a Sunday evening theft at the Carlton diner on the Kennebec bridge approach. A cigarette vending machine and stand were loaded into a car and driven away while the proprietor watched. A dining couple identified the suspects, and police planned to detain them Monday afternoon.

Contract Signed for Bath Iron Works Destroyer
The U S Navy signed the destroyer contract Friday in Washington with Bath Iron Works Corp. The deal clears red tape after the Sept 29 award and may start construction in January. Bath Iron Works bid $2,626,000 as the lowest proposer per Navy designs.

Georgetown resident demands town books in court action
Gertrude W. Moulton of Chorge town appeared before Judge John J. Keegan and signed two warrants. One targets the three selectmen L Earl Hagan chairman Orville F Rowe and Harry H Heald for allegedly refusing to show town books for inspection. the other targets Hagan individually for blocking voter access on December 14. Warrants will be served within 24 hours and hearings are expected to occur within the week.

A full all day North Center P T A session at Grace church parish house saw high attendance and new members. The group packed 425 Christmas bags 325 for primaries and 100 for a requesting school while milk was supplied free to 27 pupils. Subscriptions to Child Welfare were renewed and a January card party was planned led by Mrs Morin with committee members Nichols and McFadden.

Dike School P T A met with 30 members present in the teachers room. Mary McDonald was appointed to chair a January party and will host her committee on Beacon street Friday at 7 30.
