Last Bath Cabin Boy Remembered for Sea Trials and Rescue

Robert M. Silsby of Bath, once a cabin boy aboard the ship John R. Wesley and later keeper aboard the Cyrus Wakefield, endured perilous Cape Horn passages and wrecks. The Kelley sank after grounding near Port Stanley. Silsby later ran a Bath hotel and preserved the memory of those days.
