The Forgotten Man and the Consumer in Price Debates
A Washington columnist argues the wage price debate ignores the consumer often labeled the forgotten man. New Snow Loader Gives Satisfaction On City Streets
The Sergeant overhead snow loader drew strong praise Saturday as it quickly cleared large piles on Front Street after the season's first real snow. Operated by Edgar Gardner, the tractor-towed unit scooped snow into a truck with an overhead motion, leaving the road surface bare. With two helpers, it outperformed a full crew in speed and thoroughness. In North Bath the loader freed the Bay Shore road near Cave Rich farm from a snow gully, opening the route that two or more trucks and many shovels could not. Superintendent Arthur Avery ordered the machine, and it cleared the way rapidly. The loader can also plow, grade, break up old roadbeds, and load sand or gravel, showing versatile use beyond removal of snow.
