Obituary for Orrin Guy Caverly Retired Plant Executive

Orrin Guy Caverly, 66, retired superintendent of Singer Sewing Machine Manufacturing Co. in Elizabeth, New Jersey, died Monday in Westfield. Born in Lowell, Maine, he lived in Lewiston and later returned to New Jersey. Survived by son Roy L. Caverly of Lowell, two sisters, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services in Lowell with burial there.

Foley Family Returns From Puerto Rico Postwar Duty

Mrs. Harold J Foley and son Michael arrived last week from Puerto Rico where they have resided during the war. Mr. Foley an AD1 in the U S Navy was stationed there. For eight months prior the family lived in Panama. They will live with Mrs Foley's parents Mr and Mrs Leo Gallant at 415 Lark Street for three months until Mr Foley completes duties in the states. Phippsburg Community Calendar Highlights Christmas Plans

The Joint School committee of School Union 48 will meet tonight at Woolwich Central school at 7 30. Bodwell grange meets Saturday at 8 p.m. Christmas observances are planned by several groups including the Phippsburg Sportsmen's Association and the Phippsburg PTA. A by laws committee will meet December 11, wreaths are being made, and candlelight services are planned for December 22 and 24. Several residents returned to schools after Thanksgiving and families hosted dinners and visits around town.

Local motorists fined for traffic violations in West Bath and Portland

Dale A. Farrington 21 of Brunswick Naval Air Station paid a 25 fine after pleading guilty to speeding Monday on Route 1 in West Bath. Harold F. Butts 27 of Portland was fined 15 for failing to come to a stop at Vine and Washington streets on Monday.

Local 6 Members Ship Out For Out Of Town Jobs

A union spokesman said on Wednesday that 52 members of Local 6 left by car for out of town work. The group includes 21 welders elders three outside machinists nine pipefitters four shipfitters seven chippers and six electricians.
