Plummer Hails New Line and Merchant Marine Growth
Vice Chairman Edward C. Plummer applauds the Baltimore Mail Steamship Co. for establishing a modern line that will expand American passenger and express cargo service, boost the nation’s merchant marine, and enhance U S trade. He challenges critics who deny government aid, arguing wages abroad subsidize foreign ships while U S labor bears the cost of domestic shipping support.
